FAQ – I’m A Volunteer

Can I start fundraising before my application has been approved?

You can only set up a Fund-a-Frog account if your 2020 Pond application has been APPROVED.

How much do I set my fundraising goal for?

If you are volunteering within Australia, set your fundraising goal as high as you like. Please keep in mind that everyday hero takes a fee from each donation. To see your application costs set to $0, you will need to set your goal amount to 10% higher than the total cost of your registration to ensure that the fees are covered. If you raise well above your application cost that money will then go to the location you are volunteering at to provide the best volunteer experience and response possible!

If you are volunteering for an international destination, set your fundraising goal to include both your rego fees and flights.

How are the funds raised distributed?

Once fundraising has closed (November 10 – 17) funds will be distributed directly into a volunteer’s Pond account. Any additional funds will be transferred into Red Frogs Australia’s account and used towards volunteer catering, accommodation and operational costs.

Can I fundraise for my flights?

You can only fundraise for your flights if you are volunteering at an international destination (Bali & Fiji). Once your application fees have been covered, the additional funds can be put towards your flights. Simply pay for your own flights and provide Red Frogs Chaplaincy Network with a proof of purchase receipt and we will reimburse your flight costs. This reimbursement will be completed within 3 weeks of the Schoolies program finishing.

If you are volunteering at a local Australian destination, you can not fundraise for your domestic flights.

What happens if I do not reach my fundraising target?

If you do not fundraise enough funds to fully cover your application fees, we will transfer what you have fundraised into your Pond account. You will then need to pay the remaining fees yourself.

Are donations made tax deductible?

Payments made through the Raisely platform to Red Frogs Australia are tax deductible.

How do I donate to a specific worker?

Visit www.fundafrog.com.au/donate and search for the volunteer you wish to donate to.

I don’t know any workers, though I’d like to donate to a location/team?

Visit www.fundafrog.com.au/donate and search for the location/team you wish to donate to.

Does my donation go directly to the worker or to Red Frogs?

Your donation is processed by Raisely where the funds then get sent directly to the Red Frogs Australia account. The donation amount is recorded against the Red Frog fundraiser where a tally of total funds is kept.

Is my donation tax deductible?

Payments made through the Raisely platform to Red Frogs Australia are tax deductible.

How do I make a large donation?

If you would like to make a large tax deductible donation and would like to avoid unnecessary fees, please donate through our online donation form.
